My work as an Integral Coach stems from a deep desire to help people and develop leaders.

In December 2018, after a successful, more than two-decades-long C-level career in the shipping industry, I faced a challenging setback and had a chance encounter with a coach practicing the Japanese art of Ikagi. He steered me onto this path, and I am grateful our lives intersected. I went on to study at New Ventures West in San Francisco and became a certified Integral Coach in 2020. I began coaching formally that year, and since then, I have guided dozens of clients to shift their way of being so they can connect to themselves and others in a rooted and more meaningful way.

My personal story is one of corporate career transformation and willingly leaving behind something I had done for 25 years. I have been through divorce and have been gifted with 15 years of recovery from alcoholism. I ran for political office and experienced humbling defeat. The lessons I learned during that period made clear how you can change your life despite great fear and resistance.

As I now look to grow my practice and amplify my impact in the world, I am open to opportunities to work with individual clients as well as businesses and teams who seek to be coached by someone who has been there.

As a lifelong resident of Oakland, I enjoy giving back to my community through my local volunteer efforts. I am passionate about my yoga practice and study Zen Buddhism with a teacher. I’ve recently discovered my love of photography. When I’m not coaching clients, my greatest love is spending time with my children (Layla, 16, and Eli, 4) and our new pup KODA in the Sierra and Lake Tahoe, snowboarding, hiking, and swimming.
